Classic meat and potatoes screamo, with a mix of the intense, dissonant, wall of sound stuff and the brooding, menacing clean guitar sections. Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but keeps it rolling. I would have preferred some better production, tho, as the loud sections sound wimpy and the cymbals drown out everything. So much for being a purist. The Real Nick House
Toronto band Respire deliver a post-hardcore tour de force on the largest scale possible, orchestrally rich and incessantly uncompromising. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 6, 2021
There's a charming amateurishness to this record. Sometimes this approach fails ("My Parents' House"); sometimes it succeeds masterfully ("Now I Know"). Musically, this is on the twinkly/emo side of the screamo spectrum. Don't expect to headbang. Grab a pillow and cry instead. The Real Nick House
